On a stage built for what's new we created a room built for what's true

New York Fashion Week celebrates the newest trends in the industry, but it's also one of the biggest showcases for synthetic fabrics. Every time synthetic fabrics are washed, they shed microplastics into our waterways and ultimately into our bodies. Most shoppers never think to check the label, even though that simple habit is one of the easiest ways to reduce their impact.

At Revolve Gallery, we created a sensory experience at the center of this event, a room every guest had to pass through to get to the next designer. Inside, a film traced cotton's journey from field to fabric: rainfall-watered, dyed with less water than synthetics, and fully biodegradable in 102 days, while microplastics last forever.

Guests then shopped the room's curated, all-cotton looks, proof that checking the label doesn't mean sacrificing style. Cotton returns to the earth. Synthetics don't.
